Den Helder is a city in the north of Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Den Helder sits on the most northern point of the North Holland peninsula and it is home to the main naval base. Ferry boat services link Den Helder with nearby Wadden on the Island of Texel right on the northern tip of the Netherlands.
Old traditional market stalls are in Schagen which is about 8km distance away, cheese markets,
canal tours, vegetable auction and Den Helder marina and ferry port is with 20km driving distance
from the house. There are lots more places such as the Frisia Museum further out from the house,
public transport is slow as it takes at least 1 hour to get to the train station,

is an alternative and don’t forget there are lots
of bicycle routes so hiring a bicycle is recommended and worth it too.
